Sal Coniglio was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Recology on January 1, 2021. Since 2000, Sal has worked in the resource recovery industry providing operational oversight to nearly all business functions, including collections, transfer stations, material recovery facilities, landfills, and composting facilities.
Since joining Recology in 2015, Sal has held various leadership positions. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He also served as a regional manager, overseeing many of the company’s Central Valley collection and processing facilities in California. Prior to joining Recology, Sal worked for Garaventa Enterprises and Republic Services. Sal earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership & Organizational Studies from Saint Mary’s College of California.

Cary Chen oversees legal, corporate compliance, and enterprise risk management matters for Recology. Cary joined Recology as its first in-house counsel in 2013 and has served as Corporate Secretary since 2014. In 2016, he became a member of the executive team with his promotion to Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Before joining Recology, Cary practiced law at Morrison & Foerster, where he advised public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and other corporate matters. He later served as Associate General Counsel of GREE International, a mobile gaming startup.
In 2018, Cary was recognized as a “Best Lawyer Under 40” by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He currently serves as President of the Board of APA Family Support Services. Cary earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford and a law degree from UC Hastings.

Mario Puccinelli

Mario Puccinelli began his career at Recology in 1978 as a driver in San Francisco’s Northeast Division, which covered areas such as Chinatown, North Beach, and the Marina District. Over the course of the next three decades, he served various roles throughout the organization including a seven-year tenure as General Manager for Recology San Mateo County, which provides services to the 11 jurisdictions that are members of the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA).
In 2015, Mario was named Vice President and Group Manager overseeing the Recology South Group. Through this role, he provided collection, material recovery, composting, and landfill operations services to 25 communities spanning a geographical area from the San Francisco border to Bakersfield.
Mario then served as Interim Group Manager in San Francisco, and in April 2021, was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mario serves as the Chair of the Recology ESOP Administrative Committee. He also serves on the Board of the Teamsters Assistance Program and the San Mateo Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA).

Mark Lomele

Mark Lomele currently serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of Recology. He joined the Board of Directors at Recology in January 2018.
Mark started at Recology in 1988 as Corporate Controller, eventually moving into the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer role from 1997 through 2018. He served as a member of the Recology ESOP Administrative Committee from 1991 to 2018 and led the committee as its Chair from 1995 to 2018.
Mark also served as the Chair of the National ESOP Association from 2011 to 2012, and Chair of the National Employee Ownership Foundation from 2015 through 2019. He is currently an independent director at Mountain Hardware, another 100% employee-owned company. Mark was named a “CFO of the Year” in 2013 by the San Francisco Business Times, and in 2018, earned the National ESOP Association’s most prestigious accolade, the “Life Service Award.”
Mark graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Jessica Ernst currently serves as Chief People & Human Resources Officer since 2022. She oversees the People & Culture organization and supports the candidate and employee experience with a people-first approach.
Jessica joined Recology in 2010 in the Pacific Northwest as Regional Human Resources Manager. In 2017, she was promoted to Director of Human Resources at the Corporate office. In 2021, she was promoted to Vice President & Sr. Director of Human Resources and appointed to the ESOP Administrative Committee.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan University and a master’s in Human Resources from Regis University.

Ms. Lawrence retired from The Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics (CMH), Kansas City’s nationally ranked, pediatric medical center, after having served two years as CAO/EVP and eleven years as CFO/EVP. She was responsible for the Hospital’s finance and accounting; integrated care, network solutions, and managed care; human resources; information and digital systems; government relations; occupational health; and other operations.
Ms. Lawrence has extensive board and civic commitments including Evergy, Inc. [NYSE: EVRG]; the Ivy and Waddell and Reed [NYSE: WDR/IVH] Mutual Funds Complex Trust; the Delaware Funds [NYSE: VCF/VMM/VFL/DDF/DEX] by Macquarie; and American Shared Hospital Services [AMEX: AMS].
Awards, honors, and panels have included NACD’s Directorship 100; WomenInc’s Most Influential Corporate Board Directors; Executive Leadership Council; 2019 Black Enterprise Registry of Corporate Directors; Savoy Magazine’s Top 100 Corporate Directors; Directors & Boards’ Directors to Watch; Ingram’s 250 Most Powerful Business Leaders of the Kansas City Area; the Harmony Humanitarian Award; the Central Exchange Woman of the Year Award; and the Outstanding Up and Comer Award.

Mark Lomele currently serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of Recology. He joined the Board of Directors at Recology in January 2018.

Mr. Moss is the President and Co-Founder of Praxis Consulting Group, an organizational development consulting firm serving employee-owned, corporate, and nonprofit clients. He is a frequent speaker and recognized authority regarding employee participation, employee ownership, organizational performance, and governance issues.
He currently serves as Chair of the Board of two 100% ESOP-owned firms and as a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Employee Ownership Foundation. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of the National Center for Employee Ownership and The ESOP Association and remains a member at-large of both organizations. Mr. Moss holds an AB from Brown University and a Masters in Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.

Mr. Feldman served as President and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago from April 2008 until December 2020, after serving several executive capacities, including Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President, Operations and Technology at the Bank since starting in 2003. Prior to his employment with the Bank, Mr. Feldman was Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Learning Insights, a privately held e-learning company he conceived, established, financed and operated.
Mr. Feldman was previously President of Continental Trust Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Continental Bank, and served in a number of other roles in capital markets, investments, and general management during his 15 years there.
He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Evanston Community Foundation where he also serves as Chair of the Racial Equity Task Force, Treasurer, Chair of the Audit and Finance Committees and a member of the Investment Council. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Beth Emet Foundation and a member of the Racial Justice Committee of Beth Emet Synagogue.
Mr. Feldman holds degrees from Case Western Reserve University and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University where he is a life-member of the Kellogg Global Advisory Board and a member of the Kellogg Inclusion Council.

Molly P. Zhang

Ms. Zhang is a seasoned board member with over three decades of international business expertise leading large-scale, capital-intensive global operations and technology organizations, managing P/L, as well as driving business growth.
Ms. Zhang currently serves on the board of directors of Gates Industrial Corp. (NYSE: GTES), a global company for highly engineered industrial products in Denver, CO, Enerkem, a privately held, leading clean tech company in Montreal, Canada, and Aqua Metals, (NASDAQ: AQMS), a late-stage green tech startup company for battery recycling in McCarran, NV. She is also a member of the supervisory board of GEA Group (G1A), a global engineering, technology solution and equipment provider for food, chemical, and other industries, in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Before her career transition to board service in 2017, Ms. Zhang held several executive roles at Dow Inc and Orica. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a MS degree in Chemistry from the Technical University of Clausthal in Germany.
In 2019, Ms. Zhang was recognized by Women Inc. magazine as one of the most influential women corporate directors; and Directors and Boards’ Directors to Watch in 2018. Born and raised in Shanghai, she has worked in Germany, China, Thailand, Singapore, and the U.S.
