Recology fully supports stronger controls, greater transparency, and stricter accountability in the rate-setting process, which is why we are supporting Proposition F, Mayor Breed’s and Sup. Peskin’s Waste Collection & Disposal Ordinance. After more than a century of providing safe and reliable service, and innovations that have helped make San Francisco the greenest big city in America, Recology agrees that we should continue to make improvements to our refuse collection system.
For our part, since 2020 we have taken substantial steps to appoint new leadership, strengthen our internal controls, and significantly modify our approach to community engagement.
Our priorities remain the same: delivering best-in-the-industry, environmentally sound service to our customers, at competitive rates, and protecting the well-being of our workers, who are all local employee-owners with a vested financial interest in the company.
